We recommend that guests book in to
Hillston Farm for a minimum of two nights to experience a
true Karoo farm stay, but overnight stops are also welcome.
Comfortable accommodation is offered at
Hillston Farm in a 3-Star Graded (Tourism Grading Council of
South Africa) and AA Highly Recommended Ironstone cottage
built in the late 1800's. The cottage can sleep up to
6 people in 3 separate bedrooms. It has one full
bathroom with a separate toilet, a fully equipped kitchen
and under-floor heating in the lounge/dining area for the
cold winter months. After a wonderful day's hiking on
the farm guests can enjoy a braai/barbecue in the Anglo-Boer
War blockhouse or simply under the stars.
The cottage has a lovely ‘stoep’ where
guests can enjoy total relaxation. Lounge back on the bench
and watch the brilliant sunset in the west, listen to the
blue cranes fly in to Vermaak Dam for the evening and the
guinea-fowl marking the end of the day. Or sip a warm cup
of tea in the early morning and breathe in the fresh morning
air while listening to all the birds chirping as yet another
awesome day on Hillston Farm awakes.
